Warning the prisoner that if ho did not take care he would be declared an habitual criminal, Mr Justice Kennedy sentenced Wilfred Roland Ralph Jarvie, aged 36, to 18 months’ hard labour on a charge of carnal knowledge of a girl under the ago of 16. Prisoner is a married man, separated: from hjs wife. He has numerous convictions for theft, forgery and lesser offences.

Charles Walter Ramsay, aged 24, for breaking, entering and receiving, was sentenced to 18 months’ hard labour, the Judge remarking that he had already committed enough crime to warrant being declared an habitual criminal.
