ALLEGED THEFT OF RINGS.
NEW ZEALANDER IN SYDNEY. DASH WITH TRAY FROM SHOP. (United Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 2 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Peter Young, aged 21, formerly of New Zealand, has been committed for trial on a charge of having stolen six diamond rings, valued at £65, last Friday. . . . . Fred Moser (assistant in the jeweller’s shop of Fanny Jacobs in the city) said that Young came into the shop and asked to see some diamond rings. While he was inspecting a tray containing a number of rings, he shoved the felt tray under his coat and ran away. Moser gave chase and caught him.
The police prosecutor said that Young arrived, in Sydney from New Zealand a- year ago with £2OO. He recently obtained a job as a writer.
