THE LOAN POLL
HAMPSTEAD DRAINAGE SCHEME. THE SPECIAL RATING AREA. ROLL CONTAINS 617 NAMESWith a total of 617 names the ratepayers roll for use in connection with the poll on the Hampstead drainage loan proposal closed last evening. The Borough Council’s proposal is that a sum of £12,000 should be raised to instal a drainage system in the greater part of the Hampstead area of the Borough, and that a sum of £4500 should lie raised for advances to property owners who require assistance in meeting the cost of installation at their premises. The main sum would he secured by a rate of Is 7£d in the £, and the smaller sum by a rate of Is s|d in the £. The term of the loan would be 35 years.
The Council’s proposals will ho explained to ratepayers at a meeting to he held next -Wednesday and the poll will he taken on the following Wednesday, August 7.
