METHVEN SHOW.
DECISIONS OF THE COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the Committee of the Methven Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held last evening. There were present—Messrs G. Callaghan (president), G. Kelly, A. M. Hart, S. H. Anderson, L. L. Richards, W. C. Lowery, S. Campbell, E Hampton, S. Hampton, J. Steftens, C. H. Watson, A. McLeod, E. T. Grigg, R. Dart, G. Geddes, R, F. Smith, J. Wootton, R. J. Low, E» S. McDonald, J. McDonald, and A. Goodwin.
A vote of sympathy was passed to the relatives of late Mr G. Vaughan. A letter was received from Women's Division of Farmers' Union relating to undesirable snde shows, and asking that the committee do all in its power to prevent these. The Ashburton y Association wrote that it had been decided to hold a Flock Ewe Competition if sufficient entries were forthcoming. It also stated that the district competition for export lambs would be held at the Fairfield Freezing Works on December 14. New Zealand Meat Producers' Board offered a Challenge Shield for the best display from the South Island; also prizes aggregating £3O for the best individual pen of lambs. A field 1 day would be held on the cay of judging. The question of a Flock Ewe Competition was left with a sub-committee to meet the Ashburton Association, and report. A motion of thanks was passed to members who provided hospitality to judges of the field roots competition. As the meeting was the final of the present committee, the president extended liis thanks to members for their hearty co-operation during his term of office.
A vote of sympathy was passed to Mr A. Geddes, who is at in Ashburton Hospital.
