GENERAL ELECTION.
THE TEMUKA CONTEST. DEMOCRAT PARTY CANDIDATE. In reply to a deputation, Mr J. Cartwright, a member of a well-known South Canterbury family, has consented, subject to confirmation by the executive of the New Zealand Democrat Party, to contest the Temuka seat at the next general election, in the interests of that party. Mr Cartwright was, some years ago, on the staff of the Pleasant Point district high school, and was a pVominent athlete. v
