SOME FINE BLOOMS.

CHRYSANTHEMUMS EXHIBITED. CAVENDISH CLUB DISPLAY. There were some .particularly fine blooms exhibited in the Cavendish Club rooms this afternoon, when members of the garden circle held their annual chrysanthemum show. While onlyi members of the circle are permitted to exhibit, and entries are consequently somewhat restricted, the general excellence of the flowers made the show an outstanding one. Staged against a background of black instead of the customary white paper, the display was most effective, and Mrs It. Holland (convener of the circle) and Mrs A. Horsey (secretary) were heartily congratulated by members on the manner in which they had conducted the show. There were many show chrysanthemums, both single and double, and the section which included several decorative classes was also well patronised. Exhibits which created probably the greatest interest were bowls of anemones and of .clematis of a delicate mauve shade.

Mr A. J. Millichamp was the judge, and commenced very favourably on the excellence of tJfe show.
