PERSONAL.
The Minister of Public Works (the Hon. J. Bitchener) passed through Ashburton on the south-bound express train this morning.
Mr A. S. Richards, M.P., arrived in Ashburton this morning to address a number of meetings in the interests of the Labour Party.
Pastor W. E- Vickery, who has been attending a Dominion Church of Christ conference in Wellington, returned to Ashburton this morning.
Dr. Arthur Kinsley, the new Catholic Archbishop of Westminster, whose enthronement at Westminster Cathedral takes place on Monday, left Rome for London on Thursday morning.
Dr. H: M. Buchanan '(superintendent of the Mental Hospital at Auckland) has been transferred to take temporary charge of Porirua for six months. Dr. J. W. Williams, who is in charge of Porirua, has been transferred to Nelson, and the Nelson superintendent (Dr. B. D. Hart) to Auckland, All transfers are_ for six months only (says a. Press Association telegram from Auckland).
