GUERILLA WARFARE.
' OUTRAGES IN ITALIAN TYROL. 1 GERMAN SPEAKERS AND POLICE. (United Press Association—Copyright) VIENNA, April 23. According to unconfirmed reports, guerilla warfare, the news of which the Italian Government has suppressed, is being waged between the police and the German-speaking inhabitants in the region ceded to Italy after the war. The Italian authorities are considering placing some districts under martial law. Germany's success in the Saar has led to an increase in antiItalian propaganda, and is believed to be responsible for the South Tyroleans violently resisting attempts to convert them into Italians by proscribing German and and allowing only Italian in the schools. There are rumours of bomb outrages on railway bridges and electricity works, and of attempts on the lives of prominent people. The police are alleged to be making mass arrests, the courts severely punishing offenders. A Terrorist organisation was discovered at Brixen. Those arrested were not ringleaders, but students (sons of business-men) who are said to have received explosives from an unknown source under promise of paymen for successful outrages.
