METHODIST CHOIR.
ANNUAL PICNIC AT HAKATERE. The Baring Square Methodist Church Choir held its annual picnic at Hakatere on Saturday afternoon and evening. A very enjoyable time was spent in! tennis and games. The annual competition between the "red" and "blue" teams for the Hakatere cup., was helrl the "red" team winning by a narrow margin. A short sports programme was held, the results being:— Married women's race—Mesdames J. P. McLeod, A., Black and B. Dobbie (equal) 1. Single women's race—Miss W. McKenzie 1, Miss N. Bishop 2. Married men's race—W. C. Bishop 1, S. J. Graham 2. Single men's race—W. T. Corbett 1. K. Macfarlane 2.
