MINISTERS CONFER.

SUNDAY OBSERVANCE DISCUSSED ASHBURTON COUNTY MEETING. At the invitation of the Ashburton Ministers' Association, clergymen from all parts of the Ashburton County met in conference in Ashburton to-day. All denominations were represented. The president of the Association (the Rev. G. B. Hinton) presided, and gave an address on 'Sunday observance, after • which a lengthy discussion on this topic took place.

A number of other matters were considered, and country ministers were entertained at lunch by those resident in Ashburton.

It was decided to set up an Ashburton County Ministers' Fraternal, to meet on the fast Monday in March, June and September. The Ven. Archdeacon A. J. Petrie was appointed 1 president, and Mr Hinton secretary.
