AIR PAGEANT.

GOOD DISPLAY AT STOKE. (Per Press Association). NELSON, March 23. The South Island air pageant opened at the Stoke aerodrome, Nelson, today, in perfect weather. An interesting programme was held, starting with a flight over the town, in formation, by the 41 aeroplanes which had assembled. There were nearly 5000 persons present, and the attractions included an Air Force display with the machines controlled bv wireless instructions to the pilots, two parachute _ jumps by Scotty Fraser, and.aerobatics. The pageant was officially opened by Mr H. Atmore, M.P., after speeches by Messrs Spence, president of the New Zealand Aero Club, and McNab, president of the Marlborough Aero Club.
