BRITISH BUDGET.

EXTRA EXPENDITURE NEEDED. LOANS FOR PUBLIC WORKS. (United Press Association—Copyright). (Received This Day, 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, March 23. The forecasting of the Budget is in full swing. "The Dispatch'* expresses the opinion that Mr Neville Chamberlain must arrange extra expenditure in the next twelve months of at least £35,000,000, and accordingly will only be able to implement his pledges to restore the remaining 1931 salary cuts and to make income tax allowances, absorbing £11,000,000. He will not give further reliefs, but will announce a public works policy accompanied by fresh Government borrowing while money is cheap. Mr Neville Chamberlain expects increased revenue owing io bigger industrial profits, and' better Customs, Excise, stamps and petrol returns.
