Colonel J. Hargest, M.P., of Invercargill, will be the speaker at the principal service in Ashburton on Anzac Day.
Dr. H. T. Knight, of Ashburton, has joined the medical staff of the Christchurch Public Hospital to undergo the final year's training of his course.
Mr K. J. Caverhill, district public trustee and supervisor of rural intermediate credits at Masterton for two years, has been appointed deputy supervisor of the State Advances Department. /
The Rev. E. P. Blamires (young people's organiser for the Methodist Church of New Zealand) arrived in Ashburton this morning on a short visit. He will address a number of meetings while in the district.
