FIFTY YEARS SYNE. (From the "Guardian" March 13,1883). Ashburton Club—At a meeting held last night it was resolved to form a Club, in Ashburton. From present indicatioiris the affair promises to be a great success nearly forty persons having already given in their names as members while probably a much larger number will yet join. Association was held on Saturday afternoon. Mr T. Mawson (president) occupied the chair and there was an attendance of about 60 members. The election, of officers and general committee for the ensuing year, which was decided by the popular vote ofi members, was announced as follows: President, Mr D.
