GRIFFIN’S CASE.

APPEAL TO SUPREME COURT. QUESTION OF EVIDENCE. (United Press Association-Copyright) SYDNEY, March 11. An appeal was begun in the Supreme Court to-day against the conviction of Gerald Griffin, the New Zea land pacifist, who was sentenced to six months’ jjnprisonment in November, for being a prohibited immigrant. Counsel submitted that there was no evidence of where Griffin came from of whether lie was in Australia prior to his conviction. The only evidence was tliat he was seen aboard the Monowai and the Marama on separate occasions prior to receiving the dictation test in Gaelic. The hearing was adjourned.
