REBEL OFFICERS FLEE.
SURRENDER TO BULGARIANS. DEFEAT TURNED TNTO ROUT. (Received Tin's Dav, 12.50 p.m.) SOFIA, March 11. General Karnenos Kidi (Governor of Thrace), three colonels, three lieuten-ant-colonels and one civilian crossed the Bulgarian border and surrendered to the authorities at Mastanlu, who disarmed them and placed them under supervision. The Greek Legation may request the extradition of General Karnenos. The general ascribes the desertion of the troops to demoralisation due to lack of reinforcements, artillery, aeroplanes and ammunition. Rebel officers who surrendered at Nevrokop declare that loyal units,, of the navy turned rebel defeat into a rout, landing at Dedeagach a force which made the rebels believe a large body Avas taking them in the rear.
COLONEL COMMITS SUICIDE. DIED CROSSING THE FRONTIER. (Received This Day, 2.15 p.m.) LONDON, March 11. General Kamenos’s chief of staff, Colonel Panyatopolu, pulled out a revolver and committed suicide as the party of rebel leaders crossed the Bulgarian frontier.
