FOOD POISONING.

ADVICE TO HOUSEWIVES. (Per Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH, March 11. A warning to the people to live “from hand to mouth’ ’ as much as possible, was issued this morning by Dr. Boyd, relieving medical officer oi health for Canterbury. He meant by that that they should buy foodstuffs liable to deteriorate only in quantities that would satisfy their immediate needs. He urged tluiu food should not be kept.

The warning was issued in connection with the record of 13 cases ol food poisoning to the Christchurch Office Department during the week ended noon to-day. Dr. Boyd said the cases were all located in the Timaru district, and were fortunately of a mild nature. There was no need for alarm, but it was advisable that the people should take reasonable precautions, while the present hob weather continued.
