ABLE DETECTIVE.
TRANSFER FROM AUCKLAND. (Special to the “ Guardian.”) AUCKLAND. March 9. One of the best-known members of the Auckland detective staff, Detective T. A. Allsopp, this morning received notice of his transfer to Whangarei. Prior to coming to Auckland several years ago, Detective Allsopp served in Dunedin. He has investigated many important Auckland crimes and shown marked ability as a detective officer. His most famous case was the investigation of the Euawaro murders together with Detectives T. Sneddon and Finlay and other officers. In December the Commissioner of Police jMr W. G. Wohlmann), in awarding the order of merit to both Detectives Allsopp and Sneddon, stated that the Police Department wished specially to recognise the work done by these two officers.
