CROMWELL JOCKEY CLUB. TRIVET WINS HANDICAP. (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, March 8. The opening day of the Cromwell Jockey Club's meeting- was favoured with perfect sunshine. There was a big increase in the attendance, compared with the last few years. The totalisator handled £551 10s more than on the first day last year, the figures being £2174, against £1622 10s last year. OAMARU RACING CLUB. TOTALISATOR PERMIT. OAMARU, March 8. The Oamaru Jockey Club has cler cided to adopt the 75-25 per cent, win totalisator, and the usual place machine for the autumn meeting. The Dunedin District Committee has advised the club that as the Kurow Jockey Club had abandoned the meeting to have been held on March 16, a totalisator permit was available to the club whose application was approved by the District Committee. The Oamaru Club decided to apply for a permit for the-meeting on May 6, the occasion of a public holiday! for the King's jubilee.
