DUEL IN FRANCE.

SERIOUS CONTEST TAKES PLACE. BARRISTER >IN HOSPITAL. (United Press Association—Copyright) PARIS, March 6. Two members of the Chamber of Deputies, MM. Campinehi and Carbuccia, fought the most serious duel that has occurred in France in recent years. M. Carbuccia, editor of the weekly journal "Gringoire," challenged M. Campinehi, a well-knpwn -barrister, owing to letters in which M. Campinehi objected to "GrinKoire's" references to him. Shots were exchanged at 30 paces, both missing, which is customarily a signal for kisses of reconciliation. These antagonists, however, insisted on firing further shots, as a result of which M. Campinehi was severely wounded in one arm, necessitating his being sent to hospital; but before the principals and seconds had left the field a police inspector arrived I and took the names of all concerned.
