WHEAT IN CANADA.
POSITION ANALYSED. (United Press . Association—Copyright) OTTAWA, August 10. The condition of Canada’s ... wheat crop, while not very encouraging, is rated as having been better on July 31 than it was. on the corresponding date last year. Taking the long-term average per acre as YoO, the crop is estimated at 63 against 67 a year ago. Last year s crop was 270,000,000 bushels, so if the same acreage had been sown the yield would have been about 10 per cent, above that figure, assuming that the same conditions prevailed! after July 31 However, the acreage sewn was 7.5 per cent, less this year, so that the total crop may bo only slightly above that of last year. The Canadian wheat carry-over on July was estimated at 193,322,863 bushels, a reduction of 18,500,000 compared with 1933.
