RETURNS FROM AFFECTED FARMS.;
EXTENSION OF TIAIE ALLOWED. • Following an interview which Air-J. Connolly, ALP., liad with the Minister of Agriculture in Wellington yesterday, tho position regarding requests for Government assistance to those who suffered severely through the general hailstorm which occurred in Canterbury some time since is that the Department is still waiting receipt of the required detailed statements from some applicants. Before consideration can be given to what action will be taken it is necessary that the whole of the outstanding applications shall be available for final examination. ■ It bad been laid down, that the whole of these applications must reach Wellington before Alav 31, but in order to give everyone a. further opportunity tho time has been extended- to June 15.
The Department) will be glad if those intending to fill in and submit the forms .supplied lor the purpose will do so as expeditiously as they can in order that the whole matter can be finalised with as little further delay as possible.
