MINIATURE RIFLES.
THE METHVEN CLUB. At this week’s shoot of the Methven Miniature Ride Club the competition for Messrs Thomson and Owers’s trophy was completed', the winner being G. Waddington. The scores of those who qualified to shoot off wereG. Waldington 65 (handicap 5) 65-67, J. E. Carr 69 (2) 68-67, M. Holland 69 (1)_67, T. Middleton 66 (4) 63, D. Harrison 61 (10) 52. In the Club Trophy match J. Rouse registered his second success, thus winning the trophy outright. The best scores were: J. Rouse 66 (4) 66-69, S. Hyland 69 (2) 69-67, A. Lumsden 68 (2) 64, J. E. Carr 68 (2) 67, T. Middleton 66 (3), H. Noble 67 (1), M. Holland. 67 (1), L. Law 66 (5), 0. Black 60 (7). The liotty button was won by H. Noble with a possible (70). Other good scores were: J. Ro-use 69, M. Holland 69, S. Hyland 69, J, E. Carr 67, G. Waddington 66, W. Lumsden 64, J. Anderson 62. A trophy presented by Mr G. G-. Stephens drew a large number of entries. After the first round the following are left in the shoot-off: —G. Waddington 67 (5), R. Burrows 60 (10), H. Noble 70 (1), J. Rouse 67 (4), M. Holland 69 (1), j: E. Carr 68 (2). THE WILLOWBY CLUB. At the weekly shoot of the Willowby Miniature Rifle Club the following were the scores: — B. Clothier.7B, L. Pratley 77, T. Ma'cKay 75, R. Mac Kay 75, O. Mac Kay 75, J. Bell 73, T. Whearty 70, A. Maginness 69, H. Hickman 69, B. Mac Kay 71, W. Montgomery 75, E. Wren 69, G. Wesley 67, J Pap worth 67, N. Maginness 67, J. McGee 68. The liotty button was won by B. Clothier. The club will enter a team in the County Shield competition to he held in Ashburton next week.
