FATAL STORM
“WILLY WILLY” AT FREMANTLE. CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE CAUSED. TRACK OF 200 YARDS WIDE. SPEED OF 85 AIILES AN HOUR. (United Press Association—Copyright'. (Received This Day, 10.5 a.m.) FREMANTLE, This Day. A “willy-willy” demolished a large portion of the Government stores, damaged the cargo shed, and destroyed or damaged about 20 houses. Trees were uprooted, fences flattened, and electric light and telephone wires broken. . . ' A man was killed and several injured by flying iron roofing. The “willy-willy” . developed from a huge v/aterspout at sea. It struck the coast near the quay ta Fremantle, and continued its course inland with the speed of about 85 miles an hour, and a path about 200 yards wide. The entire disturbance lasted, only three minutes.
