Lung Shar (commander-in-chief of Tibet and the favourite of the late Dalai Lama) has had his eyes put out because of the power he v was gaining over the monastrieS in a large part:-.of the country. .',- ' Lung was arrested, by , order of the Tibetan. Council of Assembly, on. a charge of plotting against the Premier and Cabinet. He was convicted on that charge.
