MAN, WIFE AND THREE CHILDREN
CRIME OUTCOME OF POVERTY.

(United Press Association—Copyright). (Received This Day, 10.10 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. In a house which had been shut and silent for two days, a whole family was found dead with their throats slashed. The police believe that poverty drove the father to murder his wife and three children and then commit suicide. The victims were Frank O'Brien, aged about 50, Mrs O'Brien, aged about 40, Owen, aged 3 years, Joan, aged 2 years, and Norah, aged nine months.
