HARD AS TURNPIKE ROAD. CONDITION OF DERBY COURSE. (United Press Association—Copyright). (Received This Day, 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, May 29. “The Derby course is as hard as a turnpike road,” says the “Daily Man.’ “It shows no sign of moisture for the depth of a foot. A week’s incessant rain will be necessary to make the going good. If seems that many horses will be liable to suffer jarred joints.”
