CONSIDERATION BY CABINET

The unemployment problem is being further considered at a meeting of the Cabinet to-day. Interviewed at the luncheon adjournment, the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon jG. W. Forbes) said that Cabinet was considering a complete overhaul of the unemployment policy; Cabinet was considering the possibility of improving generally the position of those on relief work, although it naturally had to be guided by the amount of money available in the unemployment fund. Mr Forbes indicated that a careful statement woiild he issued by the Minister of Employment (the Hon. A. Hamilton) at the conclusion of the Cabinet meeting.
