EMPIRE TRADE.
BRITAIN’S SURPLUS PEOPLE. MIGRATION AND PROSPERITY. I United Press Association—Copyright). (Receiver! This Day, 1.15 p.m.) OTTAWA, May 29. Mr Stanley Bruce (Australian Resident Minister in London), in a public address here, said that Britain’s unemployment problem would remain unsolved until the flow of her surplus population to the Dominions was resumed. Since the Dominions offered the only outlet and since they were unable to take immigrants until a mea-, sure of prosperity was’ restored, .it was to the advantage of Britain to cooperate toward restoration of the prosperity of the Dominions. Apart from the question of traditional sentimental ties Britain was the logical trading associate of the Dominions, and offered a natural industrial complement to prim-ary-producing Dominions such as Australia and Canada.
