WOMAN SENTENCED.

In the Criminal Court to-day Aimee Belle Edols, a married woman, was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment for obtaining £3900 by fraud while a sequestration order was in force against her under the Bankruptcy! Act Evidence disclosed that Edols ob- '* tained £3900 at different times by representing to a solicitor, Mr A. Eelwards, that she had a large sum ol money coming to >er from an mvestmThere was a further charge against hpr of having stolen £3200, the property of Mr Percy McConnell a retired Fiji planter. There was still anothei charge that she had contributed to her bankruptcy by gambling and losing between the. years 1926 and 1931, the sum of £14.000, by betting on lace courses. ,
