NO TEAM FOR AUSTRALIA. WELLINGTON, May 29. That Newi Zealand is not to receive an Australian Soccer team this year was a decision reached at a meeting of the council of the New Zealand Football Association this evening when a cablegram was read from the Australian Soccer Football Association advising that the States had determined that a tour was impossible unless a definite monetary offer was made. The chairman (Mr B. L.' Salmon) said that New Zealand could make no offer. Concerning a proposal to send a primary schoolboys’ team to Australia, the secretary (Mr A. Williams) announced that most of the associations were against the scheme. ‘ We are not getting any further ahead with it,” lie said. On the motion of Mr Salmon no action was taken, on a proposal to receive a Fijian eleven. It was stated in the letter that the Fijian players were temperamental. “We don’t want any temperamental teams,” a member remarked.
