BYRD TAKES TEMPERATURE. COLD PERIODS TO COME. :&. (United Press Association— Copyright). NEW YORK, May 26. A wireless message' from Little America states that Rear-Admiral R. E Byrd reported from the Boiling advanced weather base that a minimum temperature of 72.5 degrees was recorded on May 20. The lowest temperature recorded ,by the first Byrd expedition was 72.4 degrees, and the lowest by any Antarctic expedition 70 degrees. The coldest periods, however, are yet to com©.
