DAVIS CUP MATCH. UNITED STATES BEAT CANADA. NEW YORK, May 26 At Wilmington, the United States. Davis Cup tennis team won an easy victory over Canada in the zone competition. G. M. Lott and J., van Ryu beat A. Martin and J. Rainville 6-1, The victory was a hollow one. The match was played on wet courts, witn a strong north, wind playing havoc with strokes. The Canadians were plainly no match for the American pair The Canadians were frequently game point at various stages,oitne first and third sets, but could do nothing against the hard play of thenopponents. Only Lott'V errors in the second set gave the Canadians an opportunity to score at all.
THE SURREY CHAMPIONSHIP. ALL-JAPANESF SEMI-FINALS, LONDON, May 25. At the Surrey tennis championship tournament in the semi-finals of the singles Yomagishi defeated R, MiKi, 6-3, 2-6, 13-11; N. Nishimura defeated Fujikura, 6-4, 5-7, 6-4. In the final Yamagisln beat Nishimura, 6-3, 6-3. . , In the final of the doubles Aoki and Fuiikura beat Nishimura and lamagishi, 6-2, 1-6, 6-4. 10-12, 6-4.
