RAIL CAR DAMAGED.
THE BATTERY BURNED. (Per Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The battsry of the rail car that has been used on the Rangiora and Little River runs in the last seven years was badly damaged by fire last night when in the Christchurch railway yard A fuse in the wiring is believed 1 to have caused sparks which set the flooring alight. The blaze was put out with chemicals. The damage is estimated at about £2OO.
