PLUNKET SOCIETY.

THE ASHBURTON BRANCH. OFFICERS ELECTED FOR YEAR. The annual meeting of the Ashburtoni branch of the Plunket Society was held this afternoon, the Mayor (Mr W. H. Woods) presiding over a very good attendance. Speaking in support of the , annual report, published .elsewhero in this issue, the' president (Mrs JP. W. Seldon) said the support accorded the branch by members and officers during the year had been most encouraging arid had resulted in a very successful period being experienced. Moving the adoption of the report, the chairman said the high percentage of babies born in the district under the care and control of the nurses, (92 per cent) showed that the value of the branch's work was appreciated by residents. The balance-sheet disclosed an eminently satisfactory position and reflected great credit on officers and members alike.
