This was accepted as evidence that he is reconciled to the new Cabinet. Sofia continues quiet, hut there is trouble in Macedonia, where the Government is bent on breaking the revolutionary organisation, controlling 20,000 well-armed followers, 'having been terrorising the country for 20 years, causing constant friction with Bulgaria and Yugoslavia.

The Sofia correspondent of the "News-Chronicle" says that the real dictator of Bulgaria is not even a member of the new Government. lie is Damien Veltcheff, a retired colonel, who lea the conspirators when they burst into the palace and demanded the establishment of a military dictatorship. King Boris, it is reported, offered to abdicate rather than to submit, but the conspirators persuaded him'to change his mind. The conspirators were mostly officers who served under Colonel Veltcheff.
