LANDSLIDE IN CHINA.
A VILLAGE OVERWHELMED. (United Press Association—Copyright). HONG-KONG, May 24. Chinese newspapers report a disaster* at Lokcliang, in the northern part of Kwangtung. Province, where, following recent rains, a huge landslide; occurred; in the Kairnan mountains, overwhelming a number of villages and burying scores of their inhabitants. Later a great body of water gushed out from the mountainside, drowning many persons. Boulders 'falling into the river capsized boats, and the total loss of life is in the vicinity of 250.
