A BRANCH’S PROTEST. ACTION OF COUNCIL. ‘ ' (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, Jan. 27. In a letter addressed to the Administrative Secretary of the Plunket Society at Dunedin, the Wellington actingsecretary notifies that the Wellington Committee and Advisory Board still find themselves dissatisfied with the action of the executive in demanding Miss Pattrick’s resignation, particularly in view of the fact that she lias been given no opportunity of defending herself. The letter says that the Wellington branch, in coming to this decision, has not been influenced in any way by the Advisory Board’s approval of the coum cil’s action, and regrets that the Advisory Board should have so advised the council without hearing both sides of the case.

The Wellington branch is further of the opinion that the proper course for the council to have adopted would he to. call a general conference before coming to any decision in regard to dispensing with the services of such a highly-placed officer as Miss Pattrick, director of Plunket nursing. The letter also says that the Wellington , branch requests that all the relevant facts leading up to the council’s 'decision should he laid before a conference, and encloses the resolution of the Wellington Branch and Advisory Board meeting suggesting that the Central Council send Miss Pattrick in writing at least a fortnight before the conference their charges against her, and that every facility be given Miss Pattrick of access to fill records, and that she he given an opportunity for a full hearing at the conference.
