WAIREKA v. METHVEN. Members of the Waireka Croquet Club played a friendly match with the Methven Club at Methven on Thin sday afternoon, and defeated the home team by 5 games to 1. Results are as follow * (W aireka names first): — Singles—Miss Hardwick 16, Mrs Newman 26; Mrs E. Robilliard 26, Mrs Jones 17; Mrs H. Samuels 26, Mrs W. J. Owen 12; Mrs J. M. Wilkie 26, Mrs Callaghan 17. Doubles.—Miss Hardwick and Mrs Robilliard 26, Mesdames Newman and Jones 23; Mesdames Samuels and Wilkie 26, Mesdames Owen 1 and Callaghan 15. ~ . . At the conclusion, the president of the Waireka Club (Mrs Wilkie) thanked the Methvn Club for its hospitality and Mrs H. G. Ayres (captain of the Methven Club) replied.
