IRISH RECOVERY.
MR DE VALERA’S OPINION. NO PROSPECT OF ELECTION. (United Press Association —Copyright) LONDON, January 27. Mr de Valera, interviewed, said that after a year of office everything was working out as he bad anticipated. There was no prospect of an election, but if one were held the Government would be returned with an increased majority.
Speaking of bis achievements Mr. de Valera said he believed that when the Government ended its term the Free State would possess a. well-balanced economy instead of the previous lopsided insecurity. The farmers, lie said, were benefiting during the current financial year by relief from taxes and land annuities to the extent of £5,500,000.
