MOTOR-CARS COLLIDE.

PASSENGERS UNINJURED. A small roadster motor car came into collision with a. larger touring canat the intersection of: Wellington, fetieet and Chalmers Avenue about 8 o clock last evening; the front- of the smaller, vehicle being extensively damaged by the impact*. The passengers escaped serious injury. - , „ The touring car. a. five-seater Overland, owned and driven by Mr 1. A. Protheroe, of Wakanui, was proceeding along Chalmers Avenue in a southerly direction when, a two-seater l<iat car driven by Mr L. Gibson, a motoi mechanic, of Ashburton, came up \\ ellington Street from tho east. The cars met at the corner. , , Considerable damage was done to.the two-seater, the radiator, lamps and right-hand front wheel being smashed and the axle badly bent. Mr Gibson, the only occupant, was thrown on to tlie road by the force of the impact, hnt escaped with a slight cut on the temple. The other vehicle which was s carrying several passengers, had a running hoard broken and one of the door panels dented.
