BURSARIES GRANTED.
THE TRENTHAM SCHOLARSHIPS. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, September 14. Applications for 425 bursaries were received during the last year, compared with 321 during the previous year, stated the. executive committee's report, submitted to the annual meeting of the Trentham Scholarship War Fund to-day. Of those applications 369 had been accepted, the awards made amounting .to £5230. Since then, sometimes at the request of an applicant, it had been found necessary to cancel some awards, totalling £285.
Since the inception of the fund in 1921, £51,688 had been paid to bursars, representing 2450 bursaries, and affecting 1013 children. Dr. E. Marsden, Mr W. Appleton, Major L. C. Forgie, and Mr G. A. Troup were re-elected to the executive committee.
