QUOTA FOR ASHBURTON £450 AMOUNT FOR CHURCH SCHEMES The Ashburton Presbytery met yesterday afternoon, the Moderator (Roy. A. D. Kirkland) presiding. Mr A. Thomson wrote stating that the reconstruction committee Avould visit Christchurch on October 31. A committee, consisting of the Revs. It. S. Watson and W. Marshall and Mr A. G. Davidson, was appointed to prepare draft proposals to be submitted to managers anil office-bearers of congregations with a view to collecting information. The Rev. G. Budd (superintendent of missions) informed the Presbytery that lie Avould A'isit Ashburton from October 28, and would conduct the jubilee sei'A'ices at Springburn. Arrangements Avere made for him to meet the office-bearers at Timvald on October 31, Mayfield on November 1, Wakanui on'November 3, and Hinds on November 4- He v ill also preach at St. Andrew'Sj TinAvald, and Flemington on November 5. An invitation Avas received from the Springburn home mission station to attend the jubilee celebrations on October 30. Arrangements Avere made to send a representative.

Triennial visitations for 1C33 were arranged as follows: —Wakanui, the Revs. R. S. Watson and A. S. Morrison ; Hinds, the Revs. A. D. Kirkland and W. Marshall; Mayfield, the Revs. R. Morgan and Marshall, with their representative elders. Mr Marshal] reported that the Advisory Board had reported that the amount required: for chxu'ch schemes throughout the Dominion was £21,478. The Presbytery's quota for the eight months from November 1 was £450. The Presbytery decided to allocate the various congregations at the rate of 10s a member for that period. At the request of the -St. Andrew's Session, a conference between the St. Andrew's and Wakanui managers was decided upon, at a date to be arranged. Mr A. G. Davidson reported that the Rev. John Bissett (Assembly Evangelist) had conducted a very successful .mission at Wakanui. The attendances at the meeting were good and the spiritual result of the mission seemed very satisfactory.
