CHINESE ARRESTED.
ALLEGED OPIUM SMOKING. WELLINGTON, This Day. Two Chinese were arrested early this morning when the police raided premises at 21 Haining Street. A large crowd .of Chinese watched the efforts of the police in breaking into the house, which was stronglv barricaded. A quantity of apparatus alleged to have been used for the purpose of smoking opium was found. The arrested men will appear at the Court this morning to answer charges relating to alleged smoking of opium.
