FREAK LUNCHEON.
SIR i. CAHN’S TEAM. ’ : 4 ’' *’ \ U 4" ROOM LIKE CRICKET FIELD. LONDON, August 12. Sir Julien Cahn’s cricket team which is to tour Canada and the United States, was entertained at a 1 freak luncheon at Claridge’s to-day. The room was aranged like a cricket field. “Grass” covered the floor, and the tables were arranged in field positions, with the chairman and the principal guests in the places of the batsmen ancl bowler.
The . menu was like a score-card and described the luncheon as a “twohours’ match.”
The Dominions’ Secretary, Mr J. H. Thomas, said the British Commonwealth took some managing, hut no politics had caused so much trouble as “body-line.” It was had, he said, to revive, day after day, a controversy which engendered had feeling between the two peoples.
