THE ASHBURTON FESTIVAL. TUCKER TROPHY RECALLS. RESULTS OF YESTERDAY’S SESSIONS. Chief among the announcements made at the Ashburton Competitions Society’s festival last evening \tas tlie fact that Mi,ss Marjorie McDowell, of Dunedin, and Mr Stanley Morgan, of Christchurch, had been recalled in the piano championship class in which the main award'is the Tucker Trophy. The announcement was warmly received. These competitors will play this .evening to decide the winner, and the points gained by all the competitors will he announced at- the close of the session. Third prize in this contest lias been awarded to Miss Louise Tonkin, of Oamaru, the present holder of the trophy. Miss Audrey Ruddock, of Ashburton, lias been highly commended. The session last evening was again a long one, and patrons did not leave the theatre till fitter 11 o’clock.
