THREE CANDIDATES IN FIELD. * MRS McCOMBS FOR LABOUR. (Per Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH, August 9. Mrs Elizabeth R. MeCombs was tonight selected as the official Labour candidate to , contest the Lyttelton seat. The candidature of Mr F. W. Freeman in the Coalition interest has been endorsed by the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates and the Hon. E. A. Ransom. The candidate of Mr E. L. Hills (Independent Labour) is also announced. POLLING ON SEPTEMBER 13. NOMINATIONS ON AUGUST 28. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, This Day. The Acting-Premier (the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates) announced to-day that Wednesday, September 13, has been fixed as the date for the Lyttelton byelection. The writ is to be issued on Monday, and the roll is to be closed; at, 6 p.m. that day. Nominations close at noon on Monday, August 28.
