CONVERSION OF A CAR
TWO MEN ACCUSED. OFFENCE AT RAKAIA ALLEGED. (Special to the “Guardian.”) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. At the Magistrate’s Court at Christchurch, Lawrence Glen Drydun, ft labourer, aged 28, of Rakaia, was charged with converting to bin own use a car valued at £250, the property of Bernard McNamara. Ho _pleaded guilty/ Sub-Inspector G. B. Edwards asked for a remand, stating that other inquiries were to he made. There had been a collision in tho City with the car and the police desired to find out whether Dryden or a. companion was driving. Moreover, the number plates on the car were not those placed there by the owner. A remand was granted for a week. Yesterday Charles Richard "Ward, a farm labourer, aged 23, of Rakaia, was charged with converting to his own use a motor-car, valued at £250, the property of Bernard McNamara. Accused was remanded until Monday.
