GOLF REWARD BANNED
HOLING OUT IN ONE. LONDON, March 28. ' No more golf halls, golf clubs, bottles of whisky, scent, handkerchiefs, fountain pens or cigarettes, will be permitted to golfers who hole out in one. The British golfing unions consulted 950 clubs which overwhelmingly voted for the abolition, of gifts to secretaries who hitherto have signed a dozen or more cards confirming the feat to enable members to claim awards, offers of which are pinned on notice boards. One firm presented more than 1000 bottles of whisky in a year. The “Evening News” remarks that the unions are silent about the cost of several bottles of whisky with which a player was expected to celebrate bis achievement in the club house.
