MORE MEN AT WORK.
UNEMPLOYMENT IN BRITAIN. AN IMPROVEMENT SHOWN. (United Press Association —Copyright). LONDON, April 4. During March there was an increase of 103,000 in the number of persons employed and a decrease of 80,544 in the number of registered unemployed. A large proportion of. the increased employment was in the building industry, where there were 52,000 fewer unemployed. There was .also some improvement in other trades, but there was a decline in coalmining, cotton and hosiery industries, and dock and harbour services. Details of the registered unemployed are:— Men 2,230,211 Boys 08,252 Women 423,083 Girls ■ .., ... 54,038 Total 2,776,184
